1. What we have been called to do.

“And the things that thou hast heard of me, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

“The things thou hast heard of me…”

Through the lessons God has taught us as described in our testimony, the teaching of our pastor, personal Bible study and the experiences God has brought us through, we have learned to rely upon God and his Word to uphold us. When the storms of life arise and direction is needed, God has demonstrated that we can go directly to him for the answers we need. We do not have to rely upon another to tell us what God wants of us, but we may go directly to his “throne of grace”, through his Word and prayer, to discover his will.

“…among many witnesses…”

We are not “lone ranger” missionaries, nor do we have a “new gospel” to spread. We are local church missionaries sent out from the First Baptist Church of Lawtey working through the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry. This economy affords us a tremendous outreach opportunity to the lost souls in prison as well as more accountability to our church, our pastor, and our ministry. We have chosen to follow the old paths that we might find God’s rest for our souls in the work of the ministry. Jeremiah 6:16, Matthew 11:29

“…the same commit thou to faithful men…”

God has called us to take that which he has taught us and to commit these “things” to other faithful men here in Mexico. God has not only called me to win the lost inmates to the Lord then disciple them in his Word, he has also called me to help train national men and women here in Mexico to do the same. Some of these men and women God has called to missionary service working fulltime in the prisons while others volunteer on a regular basis to go in with a group from their church.

“…who shall be able to teach others also…”

Each person is trained and equipped to work within the prison to win people to the Lord, disciple them after they are saved, and to help prepare them for life after they are released. It is our desire to see these individuals go on to be godly men and women who are serving the Lord and continuing to share with others what God has done for them. What a blessing to see God raise up these individuals and families to his service, and perhaps to see them too return to the prisons as missionaries to continue the work which he has started.

2. What we have been called to use.

The Bible.  Psalms 138:2
Our ministry accepts the Authorized King James Version as the Word of God without error and regard it as the supreme and final authority for faith, practice and ministry.
Preaching the Bible.  I Corinthians 1:21
What we need is still the old-fashioned, uncompromised preaching of God's word!!!
Teaching the Bible.  Titus 2: 1-6
Godly men and women teaching the next generation of Christians that which is right in the sight of God.
Personal Bible Study/Prisoners Bible Institute.  Acts 17:11
Teaching those who are saved to study God's word for themselves.
Tracts & Study Booklets.
Visitation and Personal Soul Winning are an absolute must in order to accomplish what God has given us and see the ministry continue.

3. What is yet needed.

Missionaries.
To serve full time in the prisons of Mexico.
Churches.
To help in the prisons, grade P.B.I. and support national missionaries.
After Care.
After care is one of the most needed areas in ministering to inmates. This gives the men and women a place to go after release  that can give them an opportunity to learn how to live for Christ in the free world with out the influence of drugs, alcohol, and the pressure of old friends and places.
Workers.
Men and women who are willing to commit themselves to seeing the inmates grow in the Lord after release. People who are willing to live on site at the After Care Program who can help the men and women learn to stand for themselves through the Lord Jesus.
